Prague sightseeing tours

----------------------------------------------

Konopiste & Karlstejn are the most famous castles around Prague. This full day sightseeing trip to Konopiste & Karlstejn Castles offers a fascinating insight into life in medieval times and the power of the peoples living in this area of Central Europe in centuries past.

After picking you up from your Prague hotel, we head southeast for around 45 minutes to reach Konopiste.

Konopiste was predominantly used for hunting. This charming castle dates from the 14th century, with extensive reconstruction works being carried out in the 19th century. Inside, Konopiste houses a huge collection of historical weapons, period furniture, paintings and tapestries.

After Konopiste we break for lunch (included in the price), then travel through the picturesque Czech countryside to arrive at stunning Karlstejn Castle. This is the most outstanding medieval castle founded and built by the mighty Emperor Charles IV. Constructed between 1348-1355, the castle was the main depository of the Emperor's coronation jewels and state documents for his whole empire.

The people living in the area we know today as Czechia were a major European force in the middle ages, with a large empire and hundreds of castles to defend it. Karlstejn, set in a forest, high on a seemingly impregnable rocky hillside, is unquestionably one of the finest.

Prague Experience sightseeing tours are in English and another language. They are led by licensed tourist guides and use modern, air-conditioned buses.

If you require a tour in French, German, Italian, Russian or Spanish, state it in Special Requests on the booking form.

The trip finishes back in Prague, near Wenceslas Square.
