| The Vaclav Havel Exhibition called "Vaclav Havel in a Nutshell" features the life and works of this most important man in recent Czech history. Vaclav Havel has many achievements to his credit. First and foremost a Czech writer and dramatist, he was also one of the first spokesmen for Charter 77, a leading figure of the Velvet Revolution of 1989, the last president of Czechoslovakia, and the first president of Czechia.
The exhibition for the first time presents a unique collection of documents, photographs and materials from Havel´s lifetime. It includes a rare collection of posters, original writings, dissident and presidential documents and artefacts. Visitors will gain a complex understanding of the work and life of Vaclav Havel during communism, up until he became the first democratically elected president. The book shop stocks a range of books by Vaclav Havel, both in Czech and in English, along with various Vaclav Havel themed gifts and motifs. |
