View our 1 day sightseeing trip from Prague to visit Cesky Krumlov: Cesky Krumlov Tour ---------------------------------------------- A two day sightseeing trip from Prague to visit the beautiful medieval town of Cesky Krumlov, with overnight hotel accommodation included in the price of the trip. Located in the south of Czechia, Cesky Krumlov is protected as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is one of the country's most attractive places to visit after Prague. This sightseeing tour is part by air-conditioned bus, part on foot.
Day One
After picking you up from your Prague hotel, we drive for around 2½ hours through the scenic Bohemian countryside to reach Cesky Krumlov. We begin our guided walking tour with a stroll through the formal gardens and courtyards of Cesky Krumlov Castle. We then walk down into the town's historical centre, where the quaint old streets are lined with Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque houses once belonging to wealthy noblemen.
At 12:30 we stop at a local restaurant for a three-course lunch. This includes a choice of 4 main courses (with a vegetarian option). After lunch there is free time to explore the town. There are charming small shops and cafés to discover, plus a lovely winding river to walk by. Next, we begin our guided visit of the main attraction, the mighty Renaissance Cesky Krumlov Castle, once the seat of powerful lords, the Rožmberks and the Schwarzenbergs. The castle houses a rich collection of paintings, period furniture, Flemish tapestries, historical weapons, and intricate china, glassware and jewellery. Afterwards, we check into a nice 3* hotel for the overnight stay (4* hotel is available for a supplement).
Finally, an extra excursion is included in the trip, to be taken either in the evening or the next morning. There is a choice of three excursions (you can decide at the time which one):
Excursion 1. At 19:00 - Ghost and Legend Tour. A expert local guide shows you the places where old Cesky Krumlov ghosts are still seen, and tells of mysteries and legends from the darker side of this medieval town.
Day Two, after a full breakfast
Excursion 2. At 10:30 - Guided City Sightseeing Tour (2 hours). Discover the best viewpoint over Cesky Krumlov, and visit more areas of the town, the castle and a church brewery. Excursion 3. Graphite Mine Tour (May-September only). The remainder of Day Two is free, to relax and enjoy the town, take a final stroll, or for last minute shopping, before we leave late afternoon for the journey back to Prague.
