Buddha Bar Restaurant

After Paris, New York, London, Jakarta, Dubai, Beirut, Kiev and Sao Paolo, the Buddha Bar opened in Prague, in the heart of the Old Town.

For the uninitiated, the Buddha Bar concept mixes imaginative contemporary pan-Asian food, opulent interiors, chic staff and exotic world music.

The Buddha Bar is certainly a spectacular dining spot. The restaurant is a spacious, meticulously furnished room with a high ceiling rising two levels. Beautifully decorated chandeliers hang from the ceiling, while an enormous Buddha statue overlooks proceedings.

The cuisine at Buddha Bar is an eclectic mix of dishes from countries across Far East Asia, with an emphasis on Japan, China and Thailand.

This delightful blend of Asian and Pacific-Rim fusion cuisine has broad appeal. For starters, Buddha Bar offers tiger shrimps with coconut and basil, duck, wok fried octopus, spring rolls, a green papaya Thai salad and a delicious Tom Yum Kung piquant shrimp soup.

For mains, choose from Thai red curries, grilled Kobe beef and lamb chops, fillet mignon steak, sea bream and Peking duck, plus a range of freshly prepared sushi. Desserts include a chocolate fondue, a liquid centre chocolate cake and a delicious red fruit cheesecake.

The wine list offers some good Czech wines and a range of French wines at all price levels.

Upstairs, a luxurious mezzanine bar and lounge looks down on the dining area. Ideal for pre or post dinner drinks. The cocktail list is extensive, and drinks are prepared to perfection.

Ambient tunes flow through the Buddha Bar, as DJs distil their musical selections while you dine and enjoy fine drinks. The sound is soothing and uplifting, infusing the night with energy and sensuality.
