Novomestsky Pivovar (New Town Brewery) in Prague is located near Wenceslas Square, and is a traditional Czech pub style restaurant with its own microbrewery.

As you enter the restaurant, the copper beer brewing tanks are right in front of you, set inside the first dining area. But there is much more to Novomestsky Pivovar, the restaurant is a labyrinth of rooms and alcoves spread over different levels.

This is an ideal restaurant to try typical Czech cuisine. The menu offers plenty of choice, with a variety of meat and fish dishes, plus pasta and large salads too, all at very good prices for the centre of the city.

For drinks, visitors can sample the brewery's own Pilsner beer, which you can order in vessels up to 10 litres in size(!), as well as a range of wines, spirits and soft drinks.

Service at Novomestsky Pivovar is straight forward and efficient; food and drinks are served promptly, indeed beers usually arrive in double quick time. Although as this is a very traditional Czech restaurant, don't expect too much small talk from your waiter (it's a cultural difference).

Novomestsky Pivovar is popular with couples, families and groups of all types and sizes. It can get busy, so reservations are important.
