As with many bars in Prague, the entrance to Kraftwerk hides what lies below. Descend the stairs and you find a large cellar bar spread over several levels, one of which is a dance floor.Over the years Kraftwerk has changed names and ownership many times, but it retains a strong local following, particularly among Czech girls. Tourists also naturally gravitate there, as it is located just a few minutes walk from both Wenceslas Square and the Old Town Square. The interior walls are mainly exposed-brick, which gives it an industrial feel, hence the name Kraftwerk. And the bar glows, illuminating a range of spirit bottles. There is a variety of seating areas to relax in and enjoy a drink. Drinks on offer include good quality chilled Czech beers on tap, wines, and a sizeable cocktail list, all reasonably priced. Kraftwerk has a good vibe; the staff are friendly, and as the evening progresses the DJ gently builds the party mood, enticing the crowd on to the dance floor. |
