View restaurants recommended by Prague Experience: Prague restaurants ---------------------------------------------- Just off the Old Town Square in the historical centre of Prague, amongst the cobbled streets behind Tyn Church, a culinary surprise awaits you. Rybi Trh (translates as Fish Market) offers the finest selection of fresh fish and seafood in Prague (although there are a few pasta and meat dishes too - this is Prague!). The design of Rybi Trh is fresh, clean and bright. The theme is naturally nautical with aquamarine colours, and fish tanks that blend in rather than dominate the scene. Overall, it is a comfortable, fairly intimate restaurant to dine in. Head chef David Németh ensures a variety of exceptional fish dishes are always on the menu, from fresh-water fish and sea fish like Atlantic halibut, monkfish and turbot, to a range of seafood including lobster, oysters, mussels, tiger prawns and scallops. The fish and seafood is expertly presented on banks of ice, or guests can even choose certain fish from the live aquarium. Fish is then roasted, grilled or boiled to recipes gleaned from around the world. Fresh fish imported, stored and presented in this manner is somewhat of a rarity in Prague and Central Europe. And given the attention to detail and its lovely Old Town location, Rybi Trh presents a very pleasant dining experience. Fish aside, meat dishes include succulent steaks, chicken and lamb chops. The wine cellar has some fine local wines to accompany your meal, plus a selection of French and Italian wines. In the summer, a terrace opens at the front of the restaurant. If you wish to dine outside, you'll enjoy nice views over the charming Týnský Dvur Square. |
