Golden Well Restaurant (Terasa U Zlaté studně) is one of the 'hidden secrets' of the Lesser Town. Tucked away in the cobbled backstreets of a delightful area of Prague, this small fine dining establishment is situated on the roof of a historic hotel building dating from 1528. As you enter Golden Well, a stunning panorama of Prague unfolds, taking in the terracotta rooftops of the Lesser Town, the Vltava River below, and reaching across to the towers of the Old Town. Golden Well Restaurant is split over two levels: the Main Restaurant and the Roof Terrace. Both afford guests beautiful views over the city. The Main Restaurant is the primary dining area from November to March. Its interior is a
mixture of modern design and renaissance elements. Classic dark wooden furniture and antique fixtures combine with bright, modern paintwork to produce a luxurious, airy and fresh feel.
Large windows ensure there are lovely views from every table.
The Roof Terrace is where most guests are seated from April to October. It is covered and heated to ensure pleasant dining no matter the weather. Guests won't want to miss the opportunity to eat outside. With all of Prague before you, it is a pleasure not to be missed. The service at Golden Well Restaurant is impeccable. Polite and efficient waiters display all the style and manners one would expect of an old, well established restaurant. Executive Chef Lukáš Hlaváček has previously worked in 2 and 3 star Michelin restaurants in the UK and USA, and is himself a winner of several international culinary medals. He conjures a fine selection of international dishes, prepared and presented with great thought and panache. The excellent wine list offers a wide choice of Czech and International wines. Golden Well is an escape from the crowds, a perfect restaurant for romantic and special occasions. While it may be hidden from street level, the restaurant is easy to access (via a lift). It is located just a few minutes walk from the Lesser Town Square and 5 minutes from Charles Bridge. |
