The most charismatic jazz clubs in Prague tend to occupy a charming cellar space, and so it is with U Staré Pani. U Staré Pani Jazz Club is no dingy basement though. Entrance is via the lobby area of the U Staré Pani Hotel. Descend the stairway, lit by small votive candles on both sides, and you enter a brightly decorated, renovated room, positively oozing with ambiance. Some of Prague's best local acts are in residence here. And the music varies quite widely to include blues, funk, groove, pop, soul and rock. U Staré Pani is open Tuesday to Saturday from 6pm to 2am, with live music from around 8pm. The club is popular and can fill quickly, so arrive early to secure the best seats. In fact, chances are you'll end up sharing a table. The bar stocks a variety of cocktails, champagne, spirits, beers and soft drinks. So whether you’re looking to listen to some great jazz music or just want to get together with friends for an evening out, U Staré Pani Jazz Club in Prague is a fine venue to try out. |
