View restaurants recommended by Prague Experience: Prague restaurants. ---------------------------------------------- Made in Japan is a highly recommended sushi restaurant located in the centre of Prague, between Wenceslas Square and the Old Town Square. Previously awarded the accolade "Best sushi in Prague", it is one of the few restaurants of its kind which operates an open kitchen: order your food, then sit and watch the chef prepare it in front of you. Experience the freshness and quality of the ingredients, and perhaps learn something of the background of Japanese cuisine. Made in Japan boasts an extensive menu, catering naturally for lovers of raw fish, but also for admirers of Japanese soups, salads and noodles, and for vegetarians too. Very popular are the omakase and sushi sets combined from various kinds of nigiri and maki, all at reasonable prices for this quality of food in the city centre. The wine list offers a variety of International wines, but don't ignore the good quality local wines from South Moravia that go well with sushi. But the most popular drinks are their range of blooming teas, followed by sake, which you can taste in several flavours.
Sushi restaurants can sometimes be a little too 21st century. While retaining the clean, simple look, Made in Japan has a warmer, livelier feel to it than many, and will satisfy the most demanding of urban adventurers. The central ingredients for Japanese cuisine are plucked straight from the ocean, cleaned and served ‘au naturel’ as sashimi or on a small slab of rice as sushi. This allows the unique colour, texture and taste of each item to be appreciated, without interference from herbs or cooking. As sushi restaurants go, this is definitely one to be recommended and makes for an interesting culinary change. |
