Sherwood Restaurant & Bar is one of Prague's' hidden gems, serving gourmet cuisine and fine drinks at budget prices, just a few minutes walk from Wenceslas Square and the Prague State Opera. Sherwood is a modern establishment with a friendly ambience. It has a long polished bar spanning one side of the room, and a choice of normal or high table seating. Don't let the bar feel deceive, Sherwood serves far from average pub food. The chefs have prepared an excellent menu to suit all tastes. The food is delicious and well presented, in a manner that would not be out of place in some of the city's finer restaurants. Along with Czech favourites like goulash, roast duck and pork ribs, are a range of international dishes from huge juicy steaks to a variety of expertly cooked game and fresh fish. There are also some nice salads, pasta and vegetarian dishes. The drinks list has good Czech and International wines, plus some of the freshest Staropramen, Stella Artois, Leffe and Hoegaarden beers in Prague. For pre or post dinner drinks there is an extensive cocktails list at very reasonable prices. The table's yours for as long as you want. For sports and music fans one area has a projection screen and three TVs showing live sports and music videos. Other areas of the restaurant are quiet with low background music. Sherwood is set just off the main tourist route, so not easily stumbled upon. Prices are considerably cheaper because of this and the quality of the food is in many ways better. The relaxed atmosphere makes Sherwood ideal for informal, but most pleasant dining. |
