Piano Nobile is situated in the centre of Prague, on the hillside just below Prague Castle. The restaurant combines a fine dining experience with panoramic views over the city. Piano Nobile is on the top floor of Villa Richter, a classicist summerhouse dating from 1836. The villa is set amongst the extensive vines of one of Bohemia's oldest vineyards (AD 908). The whole estate, including the villa, the restaurant, the vineyards and the garden terraces, has been meticulously restored. This rural ideal affords diners magnificent views over the Lesser Town and across the Vltava River to the Old Town. Yet the restaurant is only a few minutes walk from the metro station Malostranska and the hustle and bustle of the city. Piano Nobile presents a menu of Czech and International dishes. There is an emphasis on employing fresh seasonal ingredients, and the food is well-prepared and presented. The restaurant's wine selection is stored in the 'Wine Chest', which is embedded in the villa's bedrock mass. There are fine Czech, French and Italian wines to choose from. In the warmer months guests have the choice of dining outside on the terrace, to enjoy alfresco views over the city. Although, all year round a glass conservatory offers the best of both worlds. Villa Richter has all the charm of 'old world' Prague. Its vineyards date from the 10th century and were said to have been tended by St. Wenceslas himself. Stroll amongst the vines either before or after dinner, and enjoy the setting and the fine cuisine. |
