Roxy is a popular dance club on Dlouha street, close to the Old Town Square. Roxy is one of Prague’s oldest and best-known clubs, and over the years has attracted big name DJs such as Grooverider and Luke Slater to take their turn on the decks, as well as bands like Faithless and the Sneaker Pimps. The music at Roxy spans all genres of dance, but tends to be more hard-core than at other clubs in Prague. Drum ‘n’ Bass, Jungle and Techno often feature. The slightly dilapidated interior and big open spaces gives Roxy more of a warehouse feel than a modern club, the rawness of it fitting the style of music. Roxy is very popular with locals, but there is also a big young international presence. Presumably because there are a couple of hostels in the immediate vicinity. The dance floor is large, and there is cool lighting and video projections. Drinks are cheap as well. |
