| | | | Ungelt Jazz Club is located just 200m from the Old Town Square. As with other jazz clubs in Prague, Ungelt is a fairly small, intimate place set in an exposed-brick cellar several flights of stairs below street level. An interesting feature of Ungelt is the mezzanine floor, designed to squeeze as much seating into the small room as possible. The whole area is air-conditioned though, and the cellar reaches up high, so it is a pleasant place to while away a few hours. Drinks are reasonably priced, considering the prime location. There are Czech and international beers, wines, and a choice of spirits and cocktails; this includes the rather dangerous-sounding selection of ‘Special Absinth Cocktails.’ Live Jazz and Blues is on offer several nights a week, and the musicians are Czech and international. The crowd is usually a mix of nationalities and ages, making for a good atmosphere for every performance. |
