Join us for an in-depth guided walking tour of Prague Castle, which includes air-conditioned bus transport up to the castle and an entrance ticket for all Prague Castle monuments. After the castle, enjoy a boat trip through the historical centre of Prague.
This sightseeing tour is part by air-conditioned bus, part by boat, but mostly on foot (Prague Castle is pedestrianised). After meeting your guide near Wenceslas Square, we board the bus for the trip up to the castle.
Prague Castle is the city's No1 tourist attraction and the largest ancient castle complex in the world. It is set in a commanding position overlooking the city, and the Kings of Bohemia once ruled from here. Prague Castle is an intriguing mix of squares, buildings and fortifications. There are palaces, state apartments, great halls, churches, a monastery, viewing towers, and museums and art galleries.
Your guide brings the castle to life, explaining the turbulent history that surrounds the buildings and monuments, exploring with you their royal and presidential connections.
We visit St. Vitus Cathedral, site of the coronation of Kings and Queens; the Old Royal Palace, with its grand architecture; ancient St. George's Basilica, founded in 920 AD; and the beautifully quaint Golden Lane (Zlatá ulička). Dating from the 15th century, Golden Lane is where skilled artisans lived and worked, and where the mystical art of alchemy was practised! From the high vantage point of the castle, we can also enjoy a wonderful panorama of Prague. On exiting the castle, we walk down towards the Vltava River via a set of stone steps. Take in the views across the water, and look back to admire the shear size and magnificence of Prague Castle. The tour finishes at Malostranska metro station (line A) in the Lesser Town, near the river. The Old Town is just a short stroll across a bridge from here. At the end of the tour, we present you with a ticket for a boat trip, which you can either take straight away or on any other day of your Prague trip. Boats depart daily at: 12:00, 13:00, 15:00, 16:00, 17:00.
The boat sails under Charles Bridge and around the historical centre of Prague. With the Old Town on one side of the Vltava River and the Lesser Town on the other, take in spectacular views of Prague Castle, Rudolfinum, the Prague Parliament and the National Theatre.
The boat is heated in winter and air-conditioned in summer, so is comfortable all year round. There is seating inside the boat and out on deck.
The bar on board serves beers, wines, sparkling wines, spirits, hot drinks, soft drinks and snacks.
Prague Experience sightseeing tours are in English and another language. They are led by licensed tourist guides and use modern, air-conditioned buses. If you require a tour in German, state it in Special Requests on the booking form.
