There are plenty of
quality products on sale in shops

international brands are represented, along with a fine
selection of Czech goods.
Tourists who are permanent residents in a non-EU country
can save up to 21% Value Added Tax (VAT) on
purchases.
Not all shops offer the tax free facility, so look out for a "Tax Free" sign in the shop window, or ask at the counter.
To qualify, your total purchases in one day in one store must exceed 2000 CZK. |

How to claim
Pay for the goods first, then claim the tax back when you leave the country:
When paying for goods in a shop, ask the check-out assistant for a Tax Free shopping voucher.
When you leave Czechia, present the voucher to the Tax Refund Desk within three months of the date of purchase to get a stamp. Most people do this at Prague Airport, where the desk is located BEFORE passport control.
Hand the voucher in AFTER passport control
to one of the Duty Free Shops. They will
refund your VAT minus their commission. | | |
