Cafe 80s in Prague is a lively music bar and club located a few minutes walk from the Old Town Square. It draws a mostly International crowd, keen to explore the novelty of an 1980s venue (albeit Western 1980s, not Czech 1980s). When you first enter, the decor appears a bit worn and garish, but I think that is the point. This is not supposed to be clean cut 2020s, this is raw 1980s. Cafe 80s is set on two levels. The main bar at ground level has plenty of seating and a great vibe. Posters of 80s pop stars line the walls, crystal balls hang from the ceiling, and the whole place glows with luminous green, blue and red lighting. The table service for drinks works well, until it doesn't. Most of the time, dedicated staff equipped with a friendly smile provide a speedy flow of drinks to excited guests. However, Cafe 80s gets quite busy at weekends (it's not that big), and once it packs out, it can be a case of every man for himself. Downstairs is the club section, where an illuminated dance floor draws you in. It's an 80s themed venue, so the musical style needs no explanation, although the DJ sometimes strays into the big sounds of the 90s and 00s too.
For drinks, the cocktail and spirits list is extensive, and this is what most customers opt for. But there is also wine, Champagne and bottled beer. Prices are average for a music bar in this location
Visit Cafe 80s to soak up the party atmosphere. It's not luxurious and it's not pretentious. It's just a bar to have some fun in. And if you want to stick out, wear something that is luminous. |
